Glossary of Terms:

Agreement Types

MOU 
A memorandum of understanding, or MOU, is a document that states each party's intention to take action or form a new partnership. It is not legally binding. COIL collaborations are under a general MOU.
SEA 
A Student Exchange Agreement (SEA) allows for the reciprocal exchange of students for the purpose of earning credit towards a degree and for periods of one semester to one academic year. It also includes Faculty Exchanges.
AA 
Articulation agreements are a type of educational partnership where a university agrees to accept certain credits that were earned at a different educational institution. The common mode of Articulation Agreement can be 2+2, 4+4 or 3+1 etc. They also include progression partnerships, such as laddering into a Master’s program.
Collaborations 
Relationships between KPU and an international partner. Types of relationships may include research, student mobility, and academic programs in its preliminary form. When a collaboration is formalized through an agreement, this appears as a partnership in the database.
Partnerships

Relationships that have been formalized through the signing of an agreement. Agreement types include MOUs, SEAs, AAs, etc.
